Alex Brick
Chief Executive Officer
Leads the expansion of Gordon Brothers throughout Europe and is responsible for the strategic overview and direction of the business. Alex has more than 25 years’ experience in retail and, building on his reputation and enviable contact list, is instrumental in bringing new business to the organisation.
Alex is responsible for the strategic overview and direction of the business at the highest level. Under his control, the company has won numerous projects across Europe, and beyond. Together with his team, Alex has developed and implemented a variety of bespoke solutions for his Clients. It is his unrivalled experience of the retail industry that enables Gordon Brothers to get to the root of Clients’ objectives and provide strategies that create value.
Prior to joining Gordon Brothers in 2009, Alex was CEO of Speciality Retail Group and was on the board of the British Council of Shopping Centres for seven years.
Alex is active in numerous community organisations and is currently Chairman of the Everyman Media Group.

Malcolm MacAulay
Chief Operating Officer
Responsible for the operating divisions within Gordon Brothers’ European business, including Retail, Wholesale, Valuation, Brands and Commercial and Industrial.
Under his direction, Gordon Brothers’ teams have delivered over 100 successful solutions for major retailers, wholesalers and lenders across various European territories, creating value in a number of different ways, both culturally and financially.
Prior to joining in 1999, when he was responsible for the development and expansion of Gordon Brothers’ business in Europe, Malcolm was Retail Operations Director at Co-operative Retail Services, where he managed the non-food division, incorporating department stores and out-of-town home hypermarkets across the UK. Before that, he spent 22 years at BhS, in a number of senior operational roles.

Andrew Douglas
Executive Director
Responsible for the development of Gordon Brothers Europe’s structured finance products and entry into new markets, Andrew is at the forefront of identifying opportunities to develop and enhance Gordon Brothers’ funding and service propositions.
He is a chartered accountant, financier and entrepreneur who has led the development of four financial services platforms. He has previously served as CEO of The Analysis Corporation plc, Quadrant Group plc, House of Hanover Group, Resource Partners Group plc and Specialty Finance Trust, deploying funds provided by Arab Banking Corporation, Bank of Scotland, Barclays Bank, Barclays Capital, CinVen, Credit Suisse, Coal Board Pension Fund and Royal Bank of Scotland.
Andrew’s experience in the asset-backed finance industry is highly complementary to Gordon Brothers’ strengths in the provision of valuation, disposition and financial restructuring & funding.

Brian Eastwood
Non-Executive Director
Engages in business development, promoting Gordon Brothers’ investment proposition to the financial community across Europe.
Brian has over 20 years’ experience of Commercial and Investment Banking, culminating in the role of Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, incorporating leveraged loan distribution and trading, dealing with all of Europe’s major banks and funds.
He has a proven track record as one of the European markets’ best deal originators, having been a key player in the sourcing of most of Europe’s major distressed debt situations. He is a long-standing specialist in dealing with financially troubled businesses, working at both Lazard Freres and Goldman Sachs to build distressed debt operations.

Fraser Pearce
Investment Director
Facilitates investments in distressed debt and equity positions in companies across Europe.
An accredited full member of The Institute for Turnaround, Fraser identifies opportunities for investment, and structures situations where Gordon Brothers can bring both capital and operational resource to develop businesses and assist them through restructuring.
Fraser has a proven track record in the restructuring arena and is well known within the turnaround community in Europe, having previously held a senior role at Barclays Bank, within Business Support, specialising in turnarounds for both public corporation and private equity backed investments.
Throughout his career, Fraser has worked within the restructuring, turnaround and leveraged finance origination, gaining significant experience in debt structures and financial and operational turnaround. He has added significant value on many deals, particularly in the areas of stakeholder and change management, where his network of contacts and access to specialist resource is second to none.

Marco Moser
Gordon Brothers Europe
Responsible for Gordon Brothers Europe’s investment activity in Germany and other European territories.
Marco has an impressive track record and has held senior positions both in Germany and the UK. Before joining Gordon Brothers, Marco was with the Special Opportunities Fund at Fortress Investment Group in Frankfurt. Prior to this, he was in London working for GSC Partners and Merrill Lynch. In the past, Marco has closed transactions in excess of €1 billion including deals for Peine, Hein Gericke, Ihr Platz, Symrise, A.T.U, Minimax, Vaasan & Vaasan, Punch Taverns, United Business Media and DenNorskeBank ASA.
He brings a wealth of deal-making experience and high-level contacts to the team.

Martin Herrmann
Gordon Brothers Europe
Responsible for Gordon Brothers Europe’s investment activity in Germany and other European territories.
Martin has an impressive career history, with over 15 years’ experience in the investment and restructuring industry. He has previously held senior positions at Goldman Sachs’ European Special Situation Group in London, Alvarez & Marsal LLP in Frankfurt and PricewaterhouseCoopers in San Francisco. During his career, Martin has held various senior operating roles, most recently as managing director and CRO of Strauss Innovation, a German specialty retailer. Martin has closed transactions of more than €400 million including deals for Peine, Hein Gericke, Ihr Platz, Securlog, Hema, TMD and Treofan.
Martin brings a unique combination of principal investment and operating experience to the team.

Nick Taylor
Managing Director - Retail and Consumer Products
Responsible for Gordon Brothers’ Retail & Consumer Products Division across Europe.
Under Nick’s leadership, his various country-based retail teams have successfully delivered over 70 projects for leading European retailers, each characterised with a unique retail solution that has added immense value - and maximised cash return for the Client from unwanted assets.
Combined, these projects have involved over €800m of inventory, across over 900 stores, for a wide variety of retailers – from small high-street stores to the largest of out-of-town hypermarkets. His impressive Client roster includes examples from across Europe, such as: Jessops; Index; Littlewoods; Real (Metro Group); Deutsche Woolworth; Castorama; Praktiker, Schöps, Conbipel and Vroom & Dreesman.
Nick is a thoroughbred retailer who enjoyed over 20 successful years of senior, front-end retail operational roles for the Kingfisher Group. He also experienced 5 years operating in a central role, as a senior member of Marketing and Store Format Development.

Sarah Eddy
Finance Director
Responsible for all Gordon Brothers’ fiscal matters across Europe.
Sarah has been using her extensive financial skills and experience to provide value-added solutions to Clients for over 20 years. She works closely with the different divisions in Gordon Brothers, to ensure that the financial aspects of projects are structured and managed effectively, ensuring that Client returns are maximised and that our added value is qualified.
Prior to joining Gordon Brothers, Sarah enjoyed a successful 16-year career with Ernst & Young in London, providing advisory and assurance services to a wide range of multi-national Clients.

Steve Curtis
Operations Director
Responsible for Gordon Brothers’ Wholesale, Valuation and Commercial & Industrial Divisions across Europe.
Steve has enjoyed significant FMCG wholesale experience, including leadership of the 2009 trade-out of Entertainment UK - one of the largest wholesale exits in recent corporate history, with over £200m of inventory.
He has led the valuation of several major retail and wholesale businesses, including Woolworths Group plc - which resulted in the largest asset-based loan ever made in Europe.
He has also led a number of retail projects, including the successful closure of the First Quench Retailing business in 2009 - the largest ever store closure programme undertaken in Europe, incorporating 1145 stores.
Prior to joining Gordon Brothers, Steve was on the Board of Progressive Financial Services, the major division of a FTSE 250 company. During his tenure, he was Operations Director, with MD responsibility for Shopacheck Financial Services and Welcome Car Finance, and Business Development Director, with responsibility for Marketing and Property. In his earlier career, he held several senior positions within major retailers, including The Boots Group.
